Microsoft’s Windows 10 upgrade criticised by Chinese users

Beijing: Chinese users of Microsoft products have criticised the software company of enforcing a mandatory upgrade of their Windows operating systems.

“The company has abused its dominant market position and broken the market order for fair play,” Xinhua news agency quoted Zhao Zhanling, a legal adviser with the Internet Society of China, as saying.

Justifying the move, Microsoft said in an emailed statement that it was helping customers schedule the software update, previously labelled ‘optional’ and now ‘recommended’, and users had the option to cancel or reschedule. (ANI)
