Milad-un-Nabi(PBUH): Hyderabad police on high alert


At a time when the city is gearing up for the celebration of Milad-un-Nabi (Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) birthday), the Hyderabad police leaving no stone unturned to ensure peace in the run-up to the event.

The Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated on December 24 and a massive procession will be taken out by Sunni United Forum of India from Engine Bowli to Moghalpura playground via Charminar.

While a string of religious meetings and other events are lining up, Police making elaborate security arrangements, especially in the old city, to maintain law and order.

According to ‘The Hindu’ news, MIM party will be organizing a religious meeting at the Darussalam to mark the occasion. Religious scholars from various countries are expected to participate in the programme.

Around 14,000 police will keep an eye on city for the next ten days to ensure peace. Police will remove buntings, flags and banners from across the old city so as to prevent any untoward incident

The police expect the festivities to be held on larger scale as the political parties would use the opportunity to polarize voters. “We will observe maximum restraint as we suspect that some organizations will try to exploit the occasion and create problems,” the official stated.

City police have asked the organizers of religious meetings to obtain necessary permissions from police officials concerned. Police also warned of the use of DJ in the procession as police will not allow its use.
