Militant hideout busted, explosives recovered in Poonch

New Delhi:Security forces today claimed to have busted a militant hideout and recovered a large quantity of explosives and other supplies in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Based on specific input about presence of explosives and other stores in the Berirakh forest area of Mendhar tehsil of the district, a defense spokesman said, “a joint search operation was launched in the afternoon by Mendhar Rashtriya Rifles (RR) battalion which ended in the recovery of large quantity of explosives and other items”.

The recoveries included four Chinese grenades, three Under Barrel Grenade Launchers (UBGL), one 9-mm pistol and magazine, 24 9-mm rounds, four AK magazines, 276 rounds of AK ammunition, five electric detonators and three electronic components, the spokesman added.
