Millennium Bus Depot case: SC gives Delhi Govt. one year to move out

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday gave the Delhi Government a year’s time to either shift the Millennium Bus Depot away from the banks of the River Yamuna or to amend its Master Plan.

The apex court had last month agreed to hear an appeal challenging the Delhi High Court’s decision to dismiss a plea of the DTC for granting it the right to use the land for a further six months.

The high court had earlier said that the DTC cannot be allowed to retain the depot, when it was originally agreed that the retention period was only for the two weeks of the Commonwealth Games.

In 2012, the high court had given the DTC six months to relocate its depot or get the master plan amended. (ANI)
