MIM defectors will be lost in oblivion: Asaduddin Owaisi

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday claimed that those who defected from MIM to join other parties would be lost in oblivion after the GHMC elections.

Addressing election meetings in Uppuguda ward in favour of MIM candidate Fahed Bin Samad Bin Abdat, the MIM president said the defectors of MIM were never accepted by the people. Although they would make some noise during the election campaign, they would be completely forgotten by people after elections. Without naming anyone, he condemned those who joined other parties.

It may be mentioned that two ex-Corporators of MIM Meraj Mohammed and Mohammed Ghouse and other leaders had recently joined the Congress party.

Asaduddin Owaisi said it was due to MIM that the State Government waived off water and electricity bills. Further, he said that the reduction in Property Tax was originally proposed by the then GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain of MIM. He said it was MIM which launched Rs. 5 per meal schemed and started mineral water plants in several areas. Expressing confidence of MIM’s victory in GHMC elections, he said all the MIM leaders and activists have been directed to remain among public to learn and resolve their problems.

Asaduddin Owaisi addressed several meetings in Uppuguda ward for almost three hours.

Meanwhile, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi also hit the streets on Tuesday and conducted padayatra and street corner meetings in Bandlaguda and Riyasat Nagar divisions. (INN)
