MIM wants Transformer Repair Workshop in Old City

Demanding the state government not to impose the power tariff hike on the people of the state, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi stated that unofficial interruptions in supplying power were taking place in Hyderabad city. He said that the luck was with the TRS government as the Power demand never reached to peak due to drought and demonetization of big notes. The farmers were not indulging in cultivation activities for the last few years fully due to drought and now due to demonetization affect, he said.

 

Participating in the short discussion on power status in the state on Saturday in the Legislative Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi demanded the state government to set up a transformers repair shed in Old City immediately and complete the pending setting up of new transformers in the Old City as soon as possible. He said that the Old City Power staff was coming to Erragadda for repairs of transformers and reinstallation consuming much time.

He also pointed out that there were no adequate transformers in the Old City and due to this the power break downs were taking place time and again and asked the government to reduce the burden of the existing transformers immediately. Asking the government to convene a meeting with the Old City MLAs on Power issue in Old City, Akbaruddin said that the government increased power tariff two times after it assumed office. He asked the state government to see that the power to be supplied uninterruptedly in the coming three months as the students have examinations. (NSS)
