Minister pulls up civic staff over garbage pile-up

Minister for Animal Husbandry & Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav today expressed displeasure at GHMC officials for failing to take up cleansing measures at Nalas and streets under his Sanathangar constituency.

The minister made a surprise visit to the area and interacted with people and asked the officials to remove immediately some towers erected atop the buildings. The people poured in their woes of garbage piled up at various localities and stink emanating from Palika Bazar Nala which was filled with garbage thrown by people.

Expressing ire at this, he immediately pulled up the officials for not attending to the problem and asked them to plunge into action. He also asked them to see that there was no mosquito menace and cattle remained at the houses causing unclean atmosphere. Referring to some complaints, the minister said any sort of goondaism will not be tolerated. “The government will throw them behind bars through PD Act for trying to harass people”, he warned.

The civic staff should take steps persistently to see that diseases are not spread due to their negligence. He asked to impose fine on the residences under construction for dumping building material causing inconvenience to the people. The minister asked the people, small businessmen and traders to use dust bins and avoid throwing dust, garbage on roads. Stating that water tank construction is nearing completion to cater to the needs of people in Marredpally he said that CC road construction works will be taken up after drainage pipeline construction at Maruthi Street. He also asked the staff concerned to attend to public toilet leakage problem at Monda Market area and study to provide housing facility to poor living for many years at various locations. (NSS)
