Thane: A seven year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from her house by an unidentified man who raped her in nearby forest in Kon village in the district today, police said today.
The incident occurred in the wee hours when the girl, who was sleeping with her elder sister in their house, was picked up by somebody and taken to forest where she was raped, Thane Police PRO Gajanan Kabdule said.
“When the girl’s sister woke up and found that her sibling was not there and the door of the house open, she alerted her parents. The family members launched a search, but could not find the girl in night,” he said.
They finally found her lying in a pool of blood in the forest in morning and admitted her to hospital.
A case under sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping) and 376 (punishment for rape) of IPC and under various sections of POCSO Act has been registered.
