Muzaffarnagar: A seven-year-old girl, who was missing for last seven days, was found murdered today in Shahpur village area, police said.
The body with hands tied was found near a pond in the village, they said, adding it is suspected that the minor was raped and later murdered and the body was dumped in the pond subsequently.
Police said no arrests have been made so far.
Meanwhile, people of the area blocked the Shoram-Shahpur road for five hours and were demanding arrest of the culprits.
Police said security has been enhanced and and extra personnel has been deployed in the area after the incident.
