MJ college land row: Nizam’s kin filed FIR against Sultan-ul-Uloom Educational Society

Hyderabad: Dispute between the kin of the Nizam VII and Sultan-ul-Uloom Educational Society (SUES) came to limelight once again.

On 8th May, Ameena Marzia, granddaughter of Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, Nizam VII lodged an FIR in Panjagutta police station against SUES and the trustees of the Muazzam Jah Trust alleging illegal possession of 24 acres land by SUES.

It is to be mentioned that SUES runs Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology and other educational institutions located at “Mount Pleasant” at Road number 3, Banjara Hills.

According to report published in DC, Nawab Zamin Ali Khan, who holds General Power of Attorney for Ameena Marzia and the grandsons of Prince Muazzam Jah, Syed Ahmed Khan and Syed Hussain Ali Khan, said that SUES had taken illegal possession of the land.

He also alleged that AICTE and Osmania University officials have been taking bribe for granting approval and affiliation respectively to the colleges run by society.

He further said that as per Sunni Muslim Law, after the demise of Prince Muazzam Jah in 1987, the trustees should have dissolved the trust and divided the assets among his heirs.

Talking about the further legal proceedings, he said that he would take up the matter with the High Court as earlier, City Civil Court and High Court had instructed the trust not to alienate the land to others but the trustees violated these orders.

Syed Ahmed Khan alleged that AICTE and OU officials have been granting permissions to run these colleges year after year as the society is bribing them.

He also alleged that earlier, SUES was given permission to take Mount Pleasant Building and 1000 Sq. meters of land on rent. Later, the trustees and SUES entered into an agreement of sale of the entire land which is a criminal conspiracy to usurp the land.

Mr. Khan informed that Nizam VII had set up the Trust in October 1949 for the benefit of his second son, Muazzam Jah under Validation Act No. XXIV 1950 due to which the Trust deed came under the law mentioned above.

He further alarmed the students not to seek admissions in the educational institutions run by the SUES.
