MJ never wanted `white actor` to portray him

Washington: It seems like Michael Jackson’s wish has never been fulfilled, as English actor Joseph Fiennes will be portraying him in an upcoming flick.

In a 1993 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the prince of pop said “that is so stupid. That’s the most ridiculous, horrifying story I’ve ever heard. It’s crazy,” when asked whether or not he will approve a white-boy playing him, reports E! Online.

Twitter was stormed after it was revealed that the ‘ Shakespeare in Love’ star would be playing the King of Pop in a new half-hour TV comedy about an unconfirmed road trip the singer reportedly took with Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando, following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

MJ in that interview explained Winfrey that he always wanted to stay true to his identity as a black man.

“I’m a black American. I’m proud to be a black American. I am proud of my race. I am proud of who I am. That’s like you (Oprah) wanting an oriental person to play you as a child. Does that make sense?” he said in that interview. (ANI)
