Mock drill held at Shamsabad airport

mock drill

As part of anti-terrorist drive, a mock drill was held at Shamsabad airport in Hyderabad. Hyderabad police in collaboration with CISF, Civil, Octopus and RGI task force teams conducted the mock drill. A bus, with four mock terrorists holding passengers hostages inside, was placed at a distance. The masked men carrying assault rifles, pistols and rucksacks full of ammunition stormed out to hijack a bus and take its passengers hostage. The combined forces acted out the operations that would likely take place, in case of such an untoward event. The operation lasted over an hour-and-a-half.

The mock drill was conducted by Shamsabad Deputy Commissioner of Police AR Srinivas to check the preparedness of security forces in event of a Pathankot-like terrorist attack.
