Hyderabad: Hafiz Peer Shabbeer Ahmed, MLC and President of Jamiatul Ulema of A.P. and Telangana heavily criticized PM Modi for wishing success to ‘Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya Centenary’ celebrations. These greetings were conveyed through a letter written by Modi on 21st December 2015.
It is very surprising that during the past two years Modi never congratulated Muslims on the occasion of Eid. This has hurt the sentiments of India Muslims. If Modi regards Ahmadiyya community as Muslims he has to rectify his mistake. They are not Muslims. In many countries they have been declared as non-Muslims.
In his letter, Modi mentioned that Ahmadiyya community is known its religious tolerance, universal brotherhood.
“These attributes have been instrumental in strengthening the unity of nations”, Modi mentioned in his letter. He has also mentioned in his letter that “It is a matter of pleasure to know that Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya Centenary will be celebrated at its headquarters Qadian Dist. Gurdaspur, Punjab and a souvenir is being published to mark the occasion. I wish success to the centenary celebration”.
Mr. Shabbeer Ahmed in his statement issued yesterday condemned the attitude of PM Modi and said that Modi should seek the cooperation of Indian Muslims for communal harmony in this country. Instead of honoring the sentiments of a large majority of Indian Muslim, Modi is trying to please small group consists of non-Muslims.
It may be mentioned that the followers of Ahmadiyya community are scattered in Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, UP, Bihar, Odisha, Telangana and Kerala. Although the Muslims treat Ahmadiyya community as non-Muslims, Indian law considers them as Muslims.
