Mohammad Yousuf offered post of batting consultant at NCA

Karachi: Veteran Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf has been offered to join as a batting consultant in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

“We want to see Yousuf in the NCA, and are offering him a one-year contract,” a board official was quoted as saying by the Express Tribune.

The official further informed that the PCB has approached Yousuf after watching him coach Peshawar Zalmi’s junior team in their cricket academy.

The legendary Pakistan batsman, responding to the offer, said he hopes to help the newcomers if he takes up the new position.

“Yes, I have been offered to join the NCA and work with young players. I am ready to help newcomers and share my experience with Pakistan’s future batsmen. However, nothing is final yet and I hope everything is done quickly,” Yousuf said.

The 42-year-old featured in 90 Tests and 288 ODIs, scoring 7,530 and 9,720 runs respectively between 1997 and 2010.
