Mr. Zahid Ali Khan appeals to Muslims to participate in 12% reservations movement

Hyderabad: Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily offered Eid-ul-Azha greetings to all the Muslims and appealed to them to join 12% reservation movement launched by Siasat Urdu Daily to make it a success.

This movement is gathering momentum in various districts of Telangana State and in Hyderabad city. In Eidgah of Bodhan, Nizamabad, a resolution was passed after the Eid prayer in the echoes of “Allahhu Akbar”.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan also appealed to the Imams of the mosques to highlight the importance of 12% reservations after their Friday Sermons. A general awareness has been created in districts which is evidenced with the presentation of memoranda to Tehsildars, RDOs, District Collectors, Ministers and elected representatives of the people. Muslims are participating in this movement rising above the level of their political association. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan applauded the zeal of the Muslims for this movement and stressed the need for making it successful. He mentioned that it is not possible for the Government to provide 12% reservation to Muslims unless a recommendation is received from BCs Commission justifying the backwardness of the Muslims based on the survey and statistics. If the comparative record of the backwardness of the Muslims is not presented, the issue of 12% reservation to Muslims will be entangled in legal complications.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan expressed the hope that there will be positive result of the memoranda submitted to various officials. He hoped that this movement would be further intensified after Eid-ul-Azha festival.

In the historic Makkah Masjid Mosque, TDP leader Mr. Omer Khan and his associates distributed the pamphlets pertaining to 12% reservation for Muslims. Mr. Syed Kaleemuddin Askar, President of Insaf organization of Greater Hyderabad distributed these pamphlets in Old Eidgah, Madannapet and his associates distributed the same in Madina Masjid, Bada Bazar, Yakutpura, Sahifa Masjid, Azampura and Jamia Masjid, Devandudi. Mr. Syed Saleem, Vice President of Deccan Wakf Protection Society distributed these pamphlets in Madarsa Faiz-ul-Uloom, Baquer Bagh, Dabeerpura, Darulshifa Mosques. Mr. Mohammed Ahmed distributed these pamphlets at Eidgah Billali, Masab Tank. Hafiz Azeemuddin and Mr. Mohammed Anwar distributed the pamphlets in Qutub Shahi Mosque in Mujahidpur of Pargi, RR Districts. Resolutions in support of 12% reservation for Muslims were passed in the mosques of Bodhan, Kohir, Mancheriyal and memoranda were presented to revenue officials. Mr. Raj Mohammed, Mr. Asif, Mr. Akbar and other Congress leaders of Minorities Cell presented memorandum to RDO, Siddipet. Pamphlets were distributed in the Eidgah of Nalgonda also.
