In partial modification of orders issued in 2014 on “Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam” for unmarried girls belonging to SC/ST at the time of marriage, the TRS State government has issued fresh guidelines after finding some lapses in the process of field verification and preparation and submission of bills.
The State government has stated that only MROs will process and verify the applications received under the scheme instead of present system of processing and verifying by Joint director/deputy director/DTWO/PO, ITDA of the SC development/Tribal Welfare department. Beneficiaries list will be approved/countersigned by the MLA of the constituency concerned. He will also issue cheques to the beneficiary once a week. Crossed cheque will be issued in the name of the mother of the beneficiary instead of the present system in the name of the bride through online transfer. Aadhar card of the bride and bridegroom are mandatory and shall be scanned and uploaded in order to avoid misuse. (NSS)
