Multi-crore scam unearthed in Urdu University

A number of irregularities worth crores of rupees, during the period ex-Vice Chancellor in Maulana Azad National University, have been unveiled. It must be recalled that the present Vice Chancellor Aslam Parvaiz had set up an investigative Committee headed by Prof. Sulaiman Siddiqui to conduct probe into Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, construction of university website, publication of syllabus books in Manipal. The committee has identified 8 Cr and 6 Cr irregularities in both the scams respectively and recommended action against the culprits. Surprisingly though the Vice Chancellor has conducted probe into multi-crore scam but is avoiding action against the culprits. The probe which revealed involvement of two ex-Vice Chancellors is said to have created ripples from Hyderabad to Delhi.

Prof. Sulaiman Siddiqui along with two other members is said have studied all concerned files and prepared a comprehensive report. He not only identified the culprits but also exposed their role in the scam. Sadly some of the persons found involved in the scams are still in service in the university and interestingly the services of director involved in the scam who was temporarily suspended have been restored. The investigative report has a clear proof of his involvement in the scam.
