Murder case against Telangana minister’s son likely

A murder case under Section 302 IPC was being filed against Forest and Environment Minister Jogu Ramanna’s son Premender along with nine TRS activists.

According to the information, one Congress activist Katupally Tirupati Reddy of Laxmipur village under Jainad Mandal died under suspicious circumstances on January 7. The police thought Tirupati might have committed suicide. But the family members of the deceased and villagers suspected foul play behind the death of Tirupati Reddy on observing the way he died. The relatives have alleged that it was a political murder as political rivalry was going on in the village.

The relatives of the deceased and villagers staged a dharna in front of police station alleging that local TRS leaders and minister Jogu Ramanna’s son were behind the death of Tirupati Reddy. They withdrew the agitation only after the police officials assured that they will initiate action against all those responsible for the death of Tiruapti Reddy. However, the minister’s family was contending that Premender has nothing to do with the death of Tirupati Reddy. (NSS)
