Muslim leaders meet Rajnath on Kashmir

New Delhi:A delegation of Muslim leaders today met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and offered full cooperation to bring peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the 30 minute meeting, the delegation of 20 Muslim leaders conveyed to the Home Minister that they were concerned over the prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley and wanted to help to bring peace there.

Sources said that the Muslim leaders told the Home Minister that they were ready to visit Jammu and Kashmir to talk to a cross section of people if that help bringing peace.

One of the Muslim leaders Maulana Masood Raza said that it was wrong on the part of the Hurriyat leadership to refuse to meet the members of the all party delegation which visited on September 4 and 5.

Unrest in Kashmir has been continuing for 60 days and 73 people lost their lives in violent clashes between protesters and security forces so far.

The turmoil began following killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani on July 8.
