Muslim reservations: KCR claims to knock at the door of SC if no positive response from Center

Hyderabad: CM of Telangana State, Mr. KCR told that he had a direct talk with PM, Mr. Modi on Muslim reservations. He has assured that the matter would be considered sympathetically. He has sought a detailed note on Muslim reservations.

He further told that he is proceeding to New Delhi on 11th August to participate in the oath taking ceremony of Mr. Venkaiah Naidu who will be sworn in as Vice President of India. He said that on this occasion, he would talk to PM again. If he does not get positive response from him, he would knock at the door of the Supreme Court.

Mr. KCR told that TRS has no association with BJP. It is also not an ally of NDA. On the basis of principles and also keeping in mind the interests of the State, TRS is extending its support to Center on certain issues.

On regularizing the services of contract employees in electricity board, he said that they have not been made permanent but their services have been merged into the department giving them scales.

He also mentioned that due to the wrong policies of the Congress, one lakh contract employees have been facing difficulties. People of the country have rejected the Congress. Their dream to assume power in Telangana will not be fulfilled. They are not only deceiving the people but they are deceiving themselves. He asserted that very soon, he would visit every nook and corner of the State to expose Congress leaders.

He told that Communist Parties are dwindling. In his two hour long press conference held at Pragati Bhavan yesterday, Mr. KCR told that reservations have not been suggested to Muslims on the basis of religion but basing on their economic and social backwardness, bills have been passed in Telangana Assembly and Council for extending reservations from 4% to 12% in respect of Muslims. These bills have been sent to Center for getting its nod.

He pointed out that the local BJP leaders are opposing reservations for Muslims but PM told that Muslims cannot be overlooked in the country. He made a reference to Gujarat and said that there are 8% Muslim in that State. Can they be deprived of development?

Mr. Rao also told that he had discussed this issue with Home Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh. He hoped that he would be able to resolve this issue successfully. He pointed out that there can’t be one rule for Tamil Nadu and another rule for other States.
