A Muslim student from Medak selected for Science Fair in Japan

Hyderabad: Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India selected 14 students for Japan Science Fair, Secura to be held from 17th April to 14th May. Mohammed Sajid Pasha a native of Palakal Mandal of Medak District was selected to attend this science fair.

In 2013, in District Science Fair, “Inspire”, Sajid Pasha, a student of ZP High Palakal presented his science model to cool and heat water without using electricity. His model was appreciated at district level and later it was presented at the State level and All India Science Fair held in New Delhi. His model got first prize in the Science Fair held in New Delhi.

He is the only Muslim candidate selected from India. He belongs to a poor labour class family. If this talented student is encouraged, he could become a great scientist in the future. Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India sponsored his air ticket whereas Mr. Ronald Ross, Collector of Medak District provided financial assistance. Sajid Pasha needed some more financial help. Ms. Yasmeen Basha, Project Officer of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Medak District wrote a letter to Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily to provide financial assistance to his boy. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan immediately sent Rs. 20000 to meet his travel expenses.
