Muslim youth and Dalits easy target of police

Hyderabad: Maoists, Dalits, Tribals and Muslims are being targeted across the country in the name of encounters. Governments are maintaining criminal silence and trying to protect police and law enforcing agencies; thus violating constitution. Today attacks are made on weaker sections and minorities in a deliberate manner. This could be stopped only when Civil Liberties organisations and public would bring government into accountability. These views were expressed by intellectuals, journalists, academicians and human right activists while addressing a 2-day national level conference ‘who is responsible for AOB Massacre’. The seminar was held at ICSSR Seminar Hall, Main Library, Osmania University.

Journalists were invited for the 2nd session of the second day of the conference. Prof. Padmaja presided over the session. Citing Makkah Masjid blast she informed that the report of Makkah Masjid firing incident has not been presented till date. Law enforcing agencies are wrongly implicating Muslim youth and Adivasis, she claimed.

News editor Siasat Mr. Amer Ali Khan was specially invited for the 2-day seminar however he could not attend the seminar due to other engagements. He was represented by sub-editor Siasat Mohammed Riyaz Ahmed.

Editor Sakshi, Telugu Daily, Mr. Govardhan, Prof. A Nageshwar Rao and journalist Lenin also addressed on the occasion. On the occasion a committee comprising of 26 students belonging to Hyderabad Central University, JNU, Delhi University, English and Foreign Language University, Osmania University and other Universities submitted a report based on facts. The report declared the encounter on Odisha-Andhra border as mass murder.
