Muslims beware of dangers lurking on the internet

internet-surveillance

Hyderabad: There are a number of harmful effects of internet technologies, specifically social media in its various forms. The misuse of these technologies for evil is commonplace today. Many Muslims let their guards down online and do not give thought to how they interact with the internet and what harm this is doing to them. If only the Muslims would be attentive to the dangers of the internet they would be saved from many troubles. Imprudent use of information technology may land the youth into jail. Youth who are not aware of the proper use of technology use the modern facilities in a wrong manner and thus face dire consequences.

Police spying on Google maps searches is nothing new. Overwhelmed by emotions youth watch videos and photos which are against national interest. The stories of atrocities on Muslims in various countries are being spread through social media; youth quickly respond to such atrocities and express anger over that. Police keep a tab on such youth. Similarly it is easy to find out the inclination of a youth by analyzing his use of interest. Secret services are focusing such youth and seeing them as objects of suspicion. Youth from the city of Hyderabad besides other places of the country are being kept a close eye on by Indian investigative agencies. Very few youth have idea that they are under surveillance. Generally professional criminals avoid such things because they are well aware of the precautionary measures however some innocent youth overwhelmed with emotions respond to such posts and thus become objects of suspicion by the elements who are busy defaming Islam.

Youth should be aware of that whatever they watch or send as message is secured and can be used as evidence against them. Some youth are sent web links by some agencies or banned organisations visiting which can be harmful for the youth. According to sources such agencies keenly observe the inclination of youth by sending such links and later target youth of their preference. A special team of Hyderabad police is active to keep eye on internet use.

According to sources if you have ever searched the Internet for something the National Security Agency NSA (an intelligence organization of the United States government, responsible for global monitoring, collection, and processing of information and data for foreign intelligence and counterintelligence purposes) has deemed “suspicious,” you may have found yourself flagged up on the screen of a government spy. NSA can use XKEYSCORE to collect and monitor huge troves of data on unencrypted Internet browsing sessions in countries across the world. the NSA collects data on emails, browsing sessions, and what people are searching for online—“nearly everything a typical user does on the internet,” as one slide puts it. The system enables analysts to trawl through this information in order to find what is described in the slides as “anomalous events.” Anyone sending encrypted emails or documents, searching for things deemed “suspicious stuff,” or using a language that is “out of place” for the region they may get flagged up as a potential target for further surveillance.
