Muslims have apprehensions on New Education Policy

Hyderabad: The present Govt. of India is contemplating to reorganize the education policy of 1986. In this context, Minorities have apprehensions. The first education minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad had made concrete suggestions for enhancing the literacy rate. In the new education policy, his thought and philosophy have been overlooked.

A meeting was held at Salama Center, Purani Haveli, yesterday to consider various aspects of the proposed new education policy. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mohammed Sajid Ali told that Govt. of India has invited suggestions from the citizens of India on the proposed new education policy.

In the new education policy, Yoga, Sanskrit and Hindu culture are proposed to be included. All the minorities of India should jointly struggle against such inclusions.

Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Engineer supported most of the points mentioned by Mr. Sajid Ali and said that it is a very serious issue. In the beginning of the sessions, Mr. Khaleelur Rahman invited noted Muslim scholars and the managements of Minorities managed schools and college to come forward to express their opinions. All these suggestions could be sent to Ministry of HRD before 15th of September. Mr. Mohammed Manzoor Ahmed conducted the meeting and proposed vote of thanks.
