Muzaffarpur court asks police to file case against Lalu over beef remark

Muzaffarpur, Oct. 7 : A Muzaffarpur court on Wednesday directed the Kazi Mohammadpur Police Station to file a case against former Bihar chief minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for his beef remark.

In wake of the Dadri lynching incident, Lalu Yadav had last week reportedly said that ‘Hindus too eat beef’.

Lalu later backtracked from his remark following backlash from several sections of the society.

Beef has become a contentious issue after a 50-year-old man, Mohammed Akhlaq, was beaten to death in Dadri for storing beef. (ANI)
