MWD to train Old city youths for competitive exams

In a bid to bring more youngsters from Old city in the police force, the Minorities Welfare Department (MWD) proposed to train youth especially from Old city for competitive exams including those for constables and sub-inspectors of police.

MWD will provide training to as many as 1,000 candidates at different locations in the Old City. MWD’s decision came in the wake of Telangana government announcement. According to TOI news ‘over 10,000 jobs for different wings and posts of the police department and fire services will soon be filled by T govt’.

“There are many young able-bodied youth in the Old City. Many of them are physically fit. With some structured training we are certain that a large number of these boys and girls will get pass exams with flying colours,” an MWD official said.

MWD secretary Syed Omer Jaleel said that the training programme will help provide jobs to many youth from minority communities. “We will provide training for written exams as well as the physical fitness test, both of which should be cleared to get a job in the police force. We will engage trainers who will impart knowledge of necessary skills required to clear these exams”, said Jaleel.

However the MWD has yet to chalk out the plan and place has to be finalized for provide training. MWD is mulling to provide training at five to ten locations so that more youths get benefited with the scheme.
