The mystery behind Kerry Katona’s wrist tattoos

Troubled singer Kerry Katona, who admits she’s had suicidal thoughts, says she decided to get the names of her children tattooed on her wrists to stop her from slashing them.

The 35-year-old told Daily Star Sunday: “I’ve never slashed my wrists because of my kids. If I was ever to do that it would mean cutting through my kids’ names. And what a selfish mother I would be to do that.

“Like any mother, my first love and priority are my children, above everything and everybody.”

Katona, who is a mother to Molly, 14, Lilly-Sue, 12, Heidi, eight, Max, seven and Dylan-Jorge, one, wanted to end her life during her marriage to second husband Mark Croft.

“I was thinking, ‘How can I get out of this? I’m stuck. There’s nowhere to go. The best way to end all this is to end my own life’. That’s how close I was to giving up on myself. I get asked about self-harming by fans and I want what I’ve been through to help others,” said the Atomic Kitten star, who was addicted to cocaine and had a continuing battle with severe depression and bipolar disorder.
