Former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, Nadendla Bhaskar Rao today appreciated that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for having a great vision and comprehensive understanding on irrigation sector.

In a letter addressed to KCR, the former chief minister stated that KCR’s power point presentation (PPP) during the budget session on the floor of the House was exponential and speaks volumes of his foresight. Bhaskar Rao appreciated the Telangana Chief Minister for his idea to transform Telangana State into green belt. He tried to give clarification stating that the previous governments made some efforts to complete irrigation projects in Telangana. Nonetheless, he said, they could not get fructified as Telangana State was at 400 mt to 500 mt above the rivers level. Due to this reason, there were some opinions among previous leaders that they could not complete the projects as lifting the waters to about 500 mt was not possible, he felt.

“It was not possible to complete Itchampally and other projects in that backdrop”, Bhaskar Rao stated. However, the former CM opined that KCR was going ahead with proper plans to complete the same. He also appreciated that the TRS Government could address the drinking water problem of the twin cities facing difficult times. (NSS)
