Chandrababu Naidu

Reviewing the progress of relief and rehabilitation in rain-hit areas, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today instructed collectors of the affected districts to complete enumeration of losses by tomorrow.

After this, the state government will submit a report to the Centre seeking funds for relief and rehabilitation.

Naidu met district collectors and other officials where he reviewed progress of the relief and rehabilitation in their concerned areas (affected by rains), an official release said.

The CM has directed officers to complete enumeration of losses by tomorrow evening. He enquired on the losses for agriculture, horticulture, dairy, fisheries, animal husbandry, roads and buildings and damages for houses, it said.

Naidu also instructed them to provide relief materials to those who lost their ration cards from the rain-affected areas and not insist to produce ration cards from the poor, it added.

He in particular instructed Medical and Health department to take more precautions on sanitation and otherwise he warned that diseases may spread in flood affected areas.

Last week, the districts of Chittoor, Nellore, Kadapa and Anantapur were the worst-hit due to the heavy rains. Several rivers and rivulets were in spate following the rains.
