After his foreign jaunt with family members Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who flew down in the state has held a meeting with his cabinet colleagues available. Preferring to meet separately as his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao and chief ministers of other drought affected states had already met with Prime Minister Chandrababu has got time to meet Narendra Modi on May 17. Amid pressure from opposition parties, Chandrababu is to vouch for special tag in the meeting with Modi. Despite, the BJP leadership renouncing the special status, after facing wrath from congress and YCP, the TD is in a face saving mode and Naidu is to make another effort for the tag. As his meeting with Modi has been confirmed for May 17, Chandrababu is getting ready for seeking Centre’s help for drought problem. Naidu is all for continuing better relationship with its ally BJP at the Centre, though he is unhappy with it for some time for not getting adequate support funding for schemes or otherwise.  It may be said that Naidu himself did not press for the tag as it will not resolve all the issues and seek more funding instead for capital city and other developmental schemes. The chief minister will give a power presentation on bifurcation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in national capital on May 17, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said. He told media persons that Naidu and himself will be meeting the prime minister and will seek the Centre’s help for immediate drought relief. We are preparing a detailed report followed by a discussion with officials on drought and bifurcation issues on May 16, the finance minister stated. Home Minister N Chinna Rajappa said that the Centre has to help the new states to develop in the wake of bifurcation.
