Naidu reiterates interlinking of Krishna, Godavari rivers

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reiterated interlinking of rivers in the State.

After taking a dip in the river Krishna at Durga ghat here said they have taken an oath during Godavari pushkaralu that all the rivers in the State would be interlinked for development of the State. Naidu said through Pattiseem project, they could bring Godavari water into the Krishna. Stating that Godavari and Krishna rivers are life for the State, the Chief Minister said by interlinking the rivers, the State could be drought-free. He  said his government has made arrangements for performing “Akhanda Harathi” for the Godavari and Pavitra Haarathi for Krishna river.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, after holding a teleconference with the officials on the occasion of Krishna pushkaralu, directed them to take all measures and precautions as there is possibility of increased rush of devotees. He also appealed to people to maintain cleanliness at bathing ghats and he will visit each and every ghat during pushkaralu. (NSS)
