Najma Heptulla assures Mahmood Ali to increase Hajj Quota for Telangana

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Dr. Najma Heptulla assured Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali that necessary steps would be taken for the enhancement of Hajj Quota for Telangana State.

 

Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali called on Dr. Najma Heptulla yesterday in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum saying that the Hajj Quota for Telangana State has been reduced this year as a result of which draw was held only for 325 Hajj pilgrims depriving thousands of applicants. Mr. Mahmood Ali appealed to the Central Govt. to allot at least 1000 quota for Hajj pilgrims. Dr. Najma Heptulla told that she would talk to PM Narendra Modi and Telangana State would be allotted seats from PM’s quota.

 

She also told that the steps taken by TRS Govt. in Telangana for the welfare of Minorities are laudable. She mentioned that Mr. Mahmood Ali is like her brother and he always negotiated with her only for the welfare of minorities.

 

It may be noted that Ministry of Minority Affairs has convened a meeting of the ministers of Minority Welfare Departments of various states in New Delhi today. Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali will make a representation in the meeting for the enhancement of Quota for the Hajj pilgrims of Telangana State.
