Naqvi pats State Hajj Committees for better arrangements during Hajj-2016

Hyderabad: Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi congratulated all state Hajj Committees of the country for better arrangements during Hajj 2016 and said government will ensure better arrangements during 2017. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was addressing a meeting of Central Hajj Committee in Mumbai which reviewed Hajj 2016.

Central Hajj Committee Chairman Chaudhry Mahboob Ali Qaiser, Indian Consul in Jeddah, Mohammed Noor Rahman Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer Central Hajj Committee Ataur Rahman, Joint Secretary Minority Welfare Ministry Jani Aalam and Chairman Hajj Committees and Executive Officers of various states attended the meeting. Special Officer Prof. S A Shukoor represented Telangana Hajj Committee.

Chief Executive Officer Central Hajj Committee Ataur Rahman told that Hajj form for 2017 will be of one page only; additional matter has been deleted from the application. He hinted that submission of forms will begin in the last week of December. He revealed that there are nearly 23397 applicants who are applying for the fourth time. He further informed that 137 deaths occurred during Hajj 2016 and 4 ladies delivered babies.
