Iraq: At least 120 killed in massive car blast

At least 120 people were killed and 130 others left injured in a deadly car explosion at a busy market in the majority Shia town of Khan Bani Saad in Iraq.

The ISIS has claimed responsibility for the massive bomb blast, which is being described as one of the deadliest single attacks in the country, reported the BBC.

The militant group stated that one of its members drove three tonnes of explosives into a crowd, which included children marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan.

An Iraqi parliament speaker said the attack reflected an “ugly sectarian chord” and added that the government was doing all it could to stop the ISIS from further destabilizing the provincial council of Diyala. (ANI)
