Need to improve drainage system of Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Forum for Better Hyderabad conducted a talk at chandram at Himayat Nagar yesterday. Mr. M. Veda Kumar, Chairman of the Forum presided over the meeting. Environmentalists, Dr. B.V. Subba Rao, Mr. M.H.Rao and Dr. V. B. J. Chalakani participated in the discussions.

In his presidential address, Mr. Veda Kumar told that the identification of a better ruler is that he takes effective steps to protect his people from disasters. Giving the details the old drainage system, Mr. Veda Kumar told that it was sufficient for the lesser population in the past. During the rainfall, most of the roads of the city get submerged. It is therefore necessary to modernize the present drainage system of Hyderabad. He applauded the steps taken by Govt. of Telangana under Mission Kakatiya and said that under this plan, rural areas are getting developed. In Urban areas, no such planning is available.
