Need ‘revival’ of Indian Intelligence to curb Pakistan-sponsored terrorism: Defence Experts

New Delhi [India]: In the aftermath of the grenade attack launched on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowhatta, defence experts in the country have suggested ‘revival’ of the country’s intelligence in order to curb activities of ‘Pakistan-sponsored terrorists’.
Defence expert Wing Commander (Retd.) Praful Bakshi on Monday stated that the country is lagging behind in intelligence and preparedness prior to an attack.

“Day after day, our soldiers are being killed. The attacks have been going on for months. It is high time the intelligence is revamped,” he told ANI.

Echoing similar opinion, another Defence Expert, Major General (Retd.) P.K. Sehgal stated that it is time for India to be ruthless, since attacks of such kind are expected to increase in the foreseeable future.

“The Separatists in the Valley need to be taken into custody immediately. Although it will cause short-term turmoil, it will be beneficial in the long run,” said Sehgal.

As many as 11 security personnel were injured in the grenade attack in Nowhatta, including four CRPF jawans and seven police jawans.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.

Significantly, this incident occurred hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at a public meeting in Udhampur. (ANI)
