Kathmandu : A meeting of the Constitutional Council (CC) ended inconclusively after Speaker Onsari Gharti did not show up.
The Constitutional Council was supposed to nominate the most senior Supreme Court Justice Sushila Karki for the post of new Chief Justice (CJ).
Earlier, the Constitutional Council could not nominate Karki for the post of new Chief Justice after Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba and Parliamentary Party leader of the main Opposition did not attend the meeting.
The Constitutional Council has to nominate Karki for the post of new Chief Justice within this week.
Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha is retiring on April 13. (ANI)
