Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has informed that a new policy to develop Animal Husbandry in Telangana State would be unveiled soon.
Speaking to media persons on Friday, Talasani said that a draft policy has already been formulated. However, the same is being reviewed by an expert group. He said steps were being taken to link Animal Husbandry with employment generation. He said after incorporating new suggestions and experts’ views, the policy would be announced for implementation.
Talasani said that Animal Husbandry has huge potential to generate employment in rural areas. Citing an instance, he said that the restoration of lakes under Mission Kakatiya works could also lead to development of Fisheries in rural areas. He said another expert group would be formed to review the functioning of his departments on monthly basis.
He said that he would conduct an in-depth study of departments under his control for the next 15 days. (INN)
