NGOs to meet on June 23 to discuss ‘Beggar Free Hyderabad’

The Federation of NGOs, which was constituted to achieve ‘Beggar Free Society’, will hold a conference on June 23 to discuss measures to make Hyderabad a Beggar Free city.

Federation chairman Dr. Ramaiah has appealed to the NGOs to register themselves to attend the conference. Interested NGOs can do the registered by calling on the numbers 9908111355 or 9866289793.

Dr. Ramaiah said it was disclosed in a recent survey that there were about 14,000 beggars in Hyderabad and they collect nearly Rs. 24 crore per annum through begging. He said suggestions would be taken from all NGOs to effective rehabilitation of beggars. Senior officials of GHMC and Police Department will also participate in the conference. (INN)
