Nirbhaya’s mother for strict action against Rohtak gang-rape culprits

New Delhi [India]: Condemning the Rohtak gang-rape incident, Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi on Sunday said changes are only seen virtually, adding that laid-back actions of the police will give strength to the culprits.

“As far as change is concerned, we only see that on papers or news channels. Whenever there is such incident, people debate and it is flashed all over the media but no genuine actions are taken into consideration. Regarding this case, I got to know that the police reached the spot after 24 hours. This is unacceptable,” she told ANI.

Devi further said the accused should be taken under police custody and the government of that state should give strict punishments to them.

“When Nibhaya case was in the air, I thought things will change now but the Supreme Court took more than four years to give the verdict. They should not spare the culprits and deal with them strictly,” she added.

She further said that there should be no leniency, adding that the government should support the victim’s family and provide them with whatever they need.

“I am standing with this family as I know how it feels. I will do anything that is possible to help them. The government has to take steps in this case as soon as possible. If these culprits are not given strict punishments then they will roam around with confident committing the heinous crime,” she asserted.

The Rohtak gang-rape victim’s kin will get a financial assistance of Rs. 10.5 lakh.

Sonipat Deputy Commissioner Makrand Pandurang has asserted that the kin of the brutal Rohtak gang-rape case victim will be provided a financial assistance of Rs. 10.5 lakh.

The post-mortem report of the victim stated that the cause of her death was due to head injury as blunt force injuries and multiple wounds were found on her skull and scalp.

The report said the victim’s face, tongue, eye, ears was totally distorted, which made the face totally unidentifiable.

What makes the brutality every more evident, is that her oesophagus was missing and gnawing effects were seen over chest of the victim.

After that the accused took her to a deserted place and gang-raped her.

Later, the accused tried to run her over to hide her identity.

The woman’s parents had filed a missing complaint, based on which the police tracked her parents down.
