Nizamabad Municipal Corporation to reach a verdict on MIM Corporators having more than two children

Nizamabad: A meeting of Municipal Corporation of Nizamabad will be held on August 27, under the chairmanship of Mayor Akola Sujatha. The meeting assumes importance as it is likely to reach a verdict on the future of 3 corporators belonging to Majlis Ittehad ul Muslimeen.

It must be noted that opposition parties had made complaint that 6 elected corporators of MIM contested in elections by violating the rules. According to the rules in the municipal elections, a contestant should not have more than two children to contest in the elections. Case of 3 corporators out of 6 is pending with Nizamabad Court while the case of remaining 3 candidates is pending with High Court.

High Court had issued notice to Municipal Corporation on May 19, directing to submit report regarding Mrs. Fatima Zahra elected from division no 25, M A Faheem deputy mayor from division no 29, Mrs. and Najma Sultana from division no 36.
