No child to be deprived of quality education: Naqvi

New delhi: The BJP-led NDA government wants to create such an atmosphere within a decade that not a single child from any community is deprived of quality education, Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said today.

Naqvi said that for this purpose, the government has decided to launch ‘Tehreek-e-Taleem’ (campaign for education) on October 15, the birth anniversary of former president A P J Abdul Kalam.

The minister of state for minority affairs pitched for strengthening the education system as also to combat issues like terrorism, illiteracy and poverty.

“We want to create an atmosphere within 10 years where not a single child from the society, including minority communities, is deprived of good, quality education.

“For this purpose, we have decided to start Tehreek-e- Taleem. It will be started from 100 districts across the country,” a statement quoted Naqvi as saying.

He made the remarks while addressing a function at ‘Chishti India Harmony Awards’, organised by India Harmony Foundation here.

Naqvi also hit out at Pakistan, saying the “factory of terrorism” in the neighbouring country has become a threat for humanity and peace across the world.

On the situation prevailing in Kashmir, the minister said the people of the valley themselves will defeat the elements who are creating disturbances there.
