No road cutting & dumping waste materials: GHMC

To identify the culprits, who are dumping building waste material, a special vigilance team will be deployed and to restore rain gauge stations in the city to take necessary action in time in case any emergency during monsoon by coordinating with all line departments are some of the decisions taken in the convergence meeting held at HMWW&SB here today.

Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner GHMC, Sri.Dana KishoreMD HMWW&SB,  Sri.N.V.S. Reddy, MD Metro Rail, Sri.Chandrashekar CEO., Cantonment, Sri.Ravinder Addl.CP (Traffic) and officials from Revenue, Roads & Buildings and  Transco attended the meeting.

Commissioner GHMC said from June 1st Road cutting works is not allowed and those who indulge criminal case will booked against them. Restoration of Road repair works will be completed by 15th June said the Sri. Dana Kishore MD Water for this as a special task 150 engineers was deployed to complete the works in time. There are around 400 sensitive water logging areas and these locations with GPS mapping will be uploaded in the website so that the commuters would be alert who are travelling through these locations during heavy down pour said the Commissioner. It is requested to the Metrological Department to restore the 35 automatic rain gauge stations in the city as it would help agencies to take timely action further he added.

Commissioner GHMC instructed the engineering officials to prepare estimates along with the cost of raising manholes to the road level, while laying of roads and to erect traffic reflectors at the 300 U-turn locations in the city.
