Non Muslim minister arouses central govt. on Muslim reservations

Muslim ministers of the states were taken by the surprise when a non Muslim minister of Andhra Pradesh spoke up in favour of Muslim reservations. Andhra Pradesh Minority Welfare Minister Dr. Palle Raghunath Reddy aroused central government on the issue of Muslim reservation during a meeting of Minority Welfare ministers of all states held in New Delhi. He requested Union Minority Affairs minister Dr. Najma Heptulla to strive for change of central government’s policy in favour of Muslim reservations. He said central government should change its stand which is against Muslim reservation and should favour reservations.

Not only this Dr. Raghunath Reddy also appealed centre to submit affidavit in favour of 4 pc Muslim reservation during the hearing of reservation case pending in Supreme Court. In the meeting of Minority Welfare ministers and Secretaries of all the states convened by Najma Heptulla, voice was raised in favour of reservations only from Andhra Pradesh.
