Nooruddin’s kidnap: Two get life term

Hyderabad: Two persons get life imprisonment for kidnapping 4-year-old boy Mohammed Nooruddin from Qazipura, old city. The first additional metropolitan session judge on Thursday pronounced the sentence.

It must be recalled that on February 8, 2010, Syed Rasheed and his associate Mohammed Faheem had kidnapped Mohammed Nooruddin on their motorcycle while he was playing in front of his home in Qazipura area of Old City. They demanded ransom for releasing the child on which, father of the child, Hameed Khan, alerted police. Police formed a team to nab the culprits, which successfully traced the kidnappers and rescued the child from their trap.

The Times of India reported that the kidnappers were booked under IPC section 364 (A) (kidnapping for ransom) and they were sent to judicial remand. The Shah Ali Banda police also filed a charge sheet against the accused persons and the court examined 23 witnesses in the case.

Two accused were found guilty and were awarded life imprisonment and a fine of 1,000 each. They were arrested and sent to Chanchalguda Central prison.
