Not doing Bollywood just for the heck of it: Kajal Aggarwal

Her characters in Bollywood are not as varied as her outings in South but actress Kajal Aggarwal says she chooses her roles carefully in the Hindi film industry.

The 30-year-old “Singham” star, who made her acting debut as a cameo in Aishwarya Rai-starrer “Kyun! Ho Gaya Na…”, said strong script is the utmost criteria in taking up a project.

“I am extremely happy that people have accepeted me down South. I am doing good work there. But at the same time, I am not doing Bollywood just for the heck of it. Until and unless I don’t get good script and role, I don’t give my nod to a project in Bollywood,” Kajal told PTI.

Last seen in “Special 26” opposite Akshay Kumar, the actress has just wrapped up “Do Lafzon Ki Kahani”, a remake of Korean movie “Always”.

“I have completed shooting for it. The film is currently in its post-production stage and will release in June. It’s a very different film and I am working with Randeep Hooda for the first time.”

Kajal made her full-fledged foray in 2007 films with Telugu release “Lakshmi Kalyanam”. In the same year, she starred in the box office hit “Chandamama”, which earned her critical acclaim. The 2009 historical fiction “Magadheera” marked a turning point in her career as it ranked among the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time.

Kajal has a jam-packed 2016 as after “Do Lafzon Ki Kahani”, she will be seen in Telugu action film “Sardaar Gabbar Singh” and bilingual project “Brahmotsavam”.

“Language is not a barrier for me until and unless I get quality work, Both the films are huge releases there. I am also doing three Tamil films,” said the actress, who was here to promote Gilette venus razor.
