Notes ban has worsened economic condition: Ram Gopal

Ghaziabad: Criticising the Centre’s demonetisation move, Rajya Sabha MP and senior Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav today said the decision has “worsened” the economic condition of the country.

“The amateur planning of demonetisation high-value currency notes has led to a total collapse of the economy,” he claimed at a gathering at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in here.

Yadav claimed that to hide its failure to check black-money the Centre is formulating and declaring new rules everyday which is not going down well with the masses.

“Due to the decision the public is facing currency crunch and all the developmental plans are at a standstill in Uttar Pradesh and the country as well,” he alleged, adding around 70 per cent industries are badly affected and workers are facing unemployment.

Taking a dig at the Centre promoting cashless payments, Yadav said, “People will be burdened with a two per cent surcharge being levied by companies every time a online transaction is made. This will only fatten pockets of company owners.”

The SP leader announced 25 schemes under the Ghaziabad Development Authority and he laid foundation stones for 14 projects.
