Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said the State government was committed to minority welfare and will offer 100 per cent subsidized loans for their employment and better lifestyle for poor Muslims. The government will bear 90 per cent funds and 10 per cent through corporation margin money.
At a dinner hosted for the Muslim Minorities came from various places at Erravalli farm house, the Chief Minister reiterated that communal amity will be maintained in the State as it was the case of Ganga Yamuna Tehjeeb. Just like togetherness of Ganga and Jamuna, all the religions will get same priority and the government would protect the interests of all sections in equal manner. KCR explained about the welfare schemes for the Minorities, including Rs 51,000 financial assistance to 25,000 families towards Shadi Mubarak, Rs 10 lakh loan for overseas education released to help 400 students. Of 160 Gurukul schools planned for Minorities, 71 started in first phase and 89 will be started in next academic year and total of 500 schools will be started.
There was good response with 36,000 applications came for 14,000 seats and the government will open hostels for boys and girls besides using ACB Director General AK Khan’s services after his retirement for the development of Minority schools in the State. Union Minister for Minorities’ Affairs Mukhthar Abbas Naqvi has appreciated the efforts of Telangana Government in this regard and granted Rs 100 crore, he said.
The government will take all steps for the Minorities’ welfare using retired IAS Shafiq Uj Jama and by filling nominated posts with priority, he said, adding that governing bodies will be appointed for Minorities Finance Corporation, Minorities Corporation, Haj Committee, Urdu Academy and so on. He also exhorted the Minorities to develop using the schemes as the government was ready to provide them employment. KCR hoped that Muslims, Hindus and others would remain in a brotherhood manner to prevail law and order. He asked to form a committee comprising Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali and IT Minister KT Rama Rao for an eight year plan. MLA Shakil Amir, MLCs Salim, Faruq Hussain and others present.(NSS)
