Nursing staff of OGH start protest today

Hyderabad: Nurses of Osmania General Hospital will start protest from today by staging dharna for two hours. After five days, indefinite strike will be started.

Ms. T. Vijay Sushila, President, Telangana Govt. Nurses Association told that a nurse serves 180 patients. In the night shifts, a nurse is allotted three wards. Several representations were made to reduce the work load on nurses. She informed that when the number of beds was 1168, there were 60 head nurses and 250 staff nurses. Now that the number of beds is 1400 and 20 new wards have been established, the number of nurses has not been increased.
