Odhisha: 18 child labourers rescued

Karimnagar: 18 child labourers rescued while working at various brick kilns across the district by the Odhisa police and Child welfare Department along with the local police and ICDS officials.

The Rescue operation started between August 17 and 24, where they raided several places including homes, hotels and Brick kilns.

According to the news published in Indian Express, The Circle Inspector, Padma, with the three –members per team rescued the Minors from the brick kilns of Jagtial, Raikal, Malayala, Kothapet, Sultanabad, Karimnagar and Huzurabad.

The Government had made 12 teams to rescue the children who are missing from different villages of Odhisa said, Karimnagar Integrated Child Protection Scheme officer Parveena.

They believed that the children are working as the child labourers in other states.
They rescued 18 children among them two children were handed over to their parents and rest taken to Odhisa.

Operation Smile Scheme phase-1, about 478 children were rescued and about 1,818 children were rescued from various places across the district under phase-2 said by the District collector and district child protection society chairperson Neetu Prasad.
